Michele Townsend Grove, D. Min., CRE-LL has served in some capacity of religious education since she graduated from college in 1988. Michele began her career in the United Methodist tradition and transitioned to Unitarian Universalist religious education in 2003. She holds a Master’s of Theological Studies (2001) and a Doctor of Ministry (2019) from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. In 2006, Michele found her true calling as an interim religious educator and has been serving congregations in transitions since this date. She currently lives with her husband, Andy and daughter, Helena in Galena, Illinois. She serves the Unitarian Universalist Church of Stockton, Illinois as a non-ordained pastor and the First Unitarian Church of St. Louis as an interim religious education consultant. Michele’s excitement to work with the Meadville-Lombard board comes from her belief that Meadville-Lombard Theological Seminary is leading with new ideas of what ministry, theology, lifespan and religious education can be. It is an exciting time to be working collaboratively with leaders in these fields.
