Shari is a graduate of Yale University (1977) & New York University Law School (1983) and is a retired attorney. During her time as an attorney, she was a litigator who then worked for ATT&T’s legal department, specializing in international commercial & regulatory work. She is a lifelong UU and raised in the faith across a few continents. Shari began work as a racial justice activist when she was just twelve years old and continued activism that was led by her two parents’. Shari raised her kids in the UU church and has been an active member for twenty-six years. Here, she began religious teaching for early teens. She has served on the board at MUUF, and most recently as president, ending her term in 2021. Now on the Finance Committee as co-chair of the Capital campaign, they have raised $8M towards remodeling the MUUF Campus. After retiring in 2020, she is currently living with her husband, David, in New Jersey. There, they enjoy their time with their three kids and as grandparents to two kids.
