Lynne C. Schaefer holds an MBA in Finance from Wayne State University. She retired in 2022 as vice president of finance and administration at UMBC, where she oversaw finances and operations that exceeded $500 million. Prior to beginning that role in 2005, Ms. Schaefer served as VP for Finance & Administration at Oakland University and VP Administrative Services and Budget Director at Wayne State University. Lynne began her career in government for the state of Michigan, working in the Governor’s Office, and the Depts. of Management and Budget & Treasury and serving as the President of the Michigan Education Trust. Lynne is an active UU of over 30 years and is currently a member of Channing Memorial Church in Ellicott City, Maryland. In her congregation, she holds many volunteer positions and served on the ministerial search committee.
