The Student Advisory Council (SAC) is a group of Meadville Lombard students elected yearly by their peers to represents the interests of currently enrolled students.
SAC is run by students, for students, and is dedicated to helping every student have the best possible learning experience at Meadville Lombard.
SAC’s primary role is to ensure that student voices are represented in the programming, policies, and operation of the school. Whether an issue is initiated by students or by the administration, SAC provides a forum through which all can work collaboratively to maintain Meadville Lombard’s position as a world-class learning environment. In addition to participating in the Meadville Council, SAC makes recommendations and participates in decision-making on issues of student safety and well-being, academic policies, financial aid, admissions and recruitment, scheduling, and facilities. SAC also organizes and manages a buddy system for new students, coordinates worship and student programming during
SAC includes a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer, and representatives for new students, international students, part-time students, Master of Divinity students, Master of Arts in Leadership Studies students, and the Meadville Lombard Board of Trustees. SAC also elects two Good Officers who are available to assist students with sensitive conflict resolution issues and make referrals to a chaplain or other counseling services when appropriate.
Any student in good academic standing is eligible to run for SAC office. SAC meetings, minutes, and records (except those containing confidential or individual student information) are open to all students.
