What are the admissions application deadlines?

Meadville Lombard evaluates candidates for Fall entry on a rolling basis.  Because we use a rolling admissions process, it is always to your advantage to apply well before the deadline.  Students who wish to be considered for the grant aid funding priority is given to applicants who have submitted completed applications by the April 1st deadline.  All applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received. Students who apply past the final deadline will be encouraged to enroll as a Student at Large and apply during the next application cycle.

Three Letters of Reference: Please send out your references requests to your recommenders as soon as possible.  Applications are not considered until all recommendations are completed.  See Requirements for Applying section under each degree program description for further instructions.
For students applying for Financial Aid:

                     a. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Complete online at fafsa.ed.gov

When and how will I be notified of an admissions decision?

Completed applications are reviewed in the chronological order in which they are received.  Decisions are sent within four weeks of review.

 

Can I apply to begin the M.Div. or M.A.L.S. in Lay Community Ministry degree program during the spring term?

No. Meadville Lombard accepts M.Div. and M.A.L.S. in Lay Community Ministry admissions applications for fall enrollment only, although a student may begin taking courses immediately after being granted admission into the degree program.  Students interested in taking courses are welcomed to apply as a Student At Large. 

 

What is Meadville Lombard's deferment policy?

Individuals accepted into a degree program may be granted a deferment of up to one year from the intended academic year of enrollment.

 

Is there a time limit to complete the admissions application process?

All individuals must complete the admissions process within one calendar years.  No admissions application materials will be held after one calendar years from the application date.

 

Can I transfer credits from another school?

Admitted M.Div. students are allowed up to twenty-seven (27) credits to be transferred in from prior graduate work. Master of Arts in Leadership Studies may transfer up to nine (9) credits from another graduate degree program. 

*All transfer credits must be pre-approved by the student’s academic advisor. Transferred credits will not appear on the Meadville Lombard transcript with a letter grade (only the credit is transferring)and the letter P, for Pass, will accompany all transferred credits.

 

Can I begin taking courses before the beginning of the academic year into which I have been accepted?

Yes.  Although our academic year begins in the fall, individuals are encouraged to take advantage of Meadville Lombard's summer course offerings. Credits earned from Meadville Lombard automatically count towards an individual's degree program. Financial aid may be available for summer courses. Contact the VP of Enrollement and Student Affiairs for more information about how to apply institutional and Federal aid for summer courses.

 

Does Meadville Lombard require an admissions interview as part of the admissions process?

Meadville Lombard encourages an admissions interview with the Recruitment Office. Students can schedule an in person interview or Zoom call interview.  We also recommend that students visit campus before making a decision about the program and encourage students to take a class for credit at the audit price in order to see if Meadville Lombard is a good fit for them.
