The Tuition Reduction Award Disbursement Policy for the 2007-2008 Academic Year follows. For a printer-friendly version of this policy, click here.
Meadville Lombard Theological School Institutional Tuition Reduction Award Disbursement Policy
For the 2007-2008 Academic year awards will be offered as a percentage of tuition. These policies will be reviewed and are subject to change for future years.
- Residential awards are based on a full-time program of 9 credits per year. Students must register for and successfully complete at least 3 approved full-time graduate credits per quarter. Students may take more than 9 credits per year with the consent of their faculty advisor.
- MRP awards are based on a full-time program of 3 credits during the January Intensives.
- Award percentages will be modified for students taking less than 3 credits per quarter as follows. These are not the award amounts but the percentage of the original award a student will receive based upon credits taken.
|
less than 1.5 credits |
0% |
|
at least 1.5 but less than 2 credits |
33% |
|
at least 2 but less than 3 credits |
67% |
|
3 or more credits |
100% |
To calculate the effective rate of a student's award multiply the original award percentage by the modification percentage. I.E. a 50% award will be reduced to 33.5% for a quarter where the student is taking at least 2 credits but less than 3 credits [.5 x .67].
- Students must be enrolled at least half time to qualify for any institutional tuition reduction funds.
- Tuition reduction awards may be applied to Summer credits if the student has completed at least 9 credits during the preceding fall, winter and spring quarters.
- Students must maintain an excellent academic record.
- Students must comply with the School's reasonable requests to write to any donors who have contributed funds that have generated their scholarship award.
Other considerations:
- January Intensives will be included in Winter Quarter participation and funding calculations.
- Second Semester ACTS course credits will be used to compute participation % and funding for Winter Quarter.
- Proof of registration in faculty approved transfer course credits in affiliated programs and at non-ACT Schools may be used to compute participation % but will not qualify for tuition reduction since no tuition is paid to Meadville Lombard.
- Non-Tuition credits [Field Ed - CPE, Praxis, and Internship] are considered in calculating participation percentage but do not qualify for application of funds since there is no tuition to reduce.
- Meadville Lombard on line course credits do not qualify for tuition reduction but will be considered in the calculation of the participation percentage.
For more information, contact the Financial Aid Administrator.
Residential Students: Meadville Lombard awards tuition reduction scholarship grants from available scholarship resources. The Financial Aid Committee recommends yearly tuition grants as a percentage of aid for all students who demonstrate financial need. All grants are authorized for the academic year and are credited quarterly to a student's account. No grants less than $100 or greater than the cost of tuition will be made.
