Meadville Lombard's academic courses are taught in an intensive format--reducing the amount of time that our students are required to be on campus. All intensive classes meet for one week; generally Monday-Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is the equivalent of thirty hours of residential classroom work. Enrollment in the classes happens months ahead of the face-to-face time, providing students enough time to complete reading and assignments before the class meets. If the classwork can be completed in one term, all units are earned during that term. If, however, follow-up work or research must be done after the term ends, the units will be split over terms.

These courses are typically taught in the months of January and July and during two weeks in March.

Intensive courses are taught by Meadville Lombard's core and affiliated faculty as well as by adjunct faculty with academic and practical experience.

See Course Offerings for more information about the intensive courses.
