Denise Davidoff
Prior to joining the Meadville Lombard Board of Trustees, Denny Davidoff served eight years as Moderator of the Unitarian Universalist Association and Chair of the Board of Trustees. She was elected as the UUA's presiding officer at the 1993 General Assembly after serving the Unitarian Universalist movement as President of the UU Women's Federation (1981-85), Member and Chair of the General Assembly Planning Committee (1985-89), and Trustee-at-Large (1989-93). She also served as Chair of the Economic Fairness Task Force of the Unitarian Universalist Partner Church Council.
Denny is currently Chair of The Interfaith Alliance Foundation in Washington, a member of the Trustee Council of the World Conference on Religion & Peace, and Board Chair of the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Larger Fellowship. She also serves on several non-profit boards closer to home and is an active member of The Unitarian Church in Westport, Connecticut.
After graduating from Vassar College in 1953 where she majored in political science, Denny wrote promotion copy for The New Yorker, Time and Life Magazines. In 1959 she transferred her writing skills to the Connecticut advertising world and eventually opened her own advertising, marketing and public relations agency which she sold in 1990 in order to pursue a fuller volunteer life. She continues to consult with businesses on issues of marketing to this day.
