5. The University of Chicago & The Association of Chicago Theological Schools
Through
its affiliation with the University of Chicago and the Association of
Chicago Theological Schools, Meadville Lombard gives its students
access to the largest collection of theological professors, books, and
students outside of Rome. Meadville Lombard students are bi-registered
at the University of Chicago, which is just one block away, and can
take classes not just at the world-class Divinity School, but also in
any of the other award-winning graduate programs, including the Social
Services Administration, the Law School, and the Humanities Division.
Students have access to one of the nation's largest libraries, as well
as recreational and health facilities.
The Association of Chicago Theological Schools
(ACTS) is a group of 11 theological schools in the Chicago
metropolitan area. Five of these schools - Lutheran, Catholic,
Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, and UU--make up the
Hyde Park Cluster, all within blocks of each other. Students
can take classes at any of these schools. This gives Meadville
Lombard a UU environment in an interfaith context. The Seminary
Co-op bookstore provides Meadville Lombard students and the
wider community with one of the largest bookstore collections
of academic titles in the country. |
